Competition Number: 2026-049 Position: Public Relations Coordinator Department: Political Employment Status: Full-Time Salary: $22 - $30.25/HR – 35 Hours per Week Location: Naughton, ON Closing Date: August 7, 2026, at 4:00pm POSITION SCOPE: The Public Relations Coordinator is involved in all aspects of the development and implementation of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek's Political Office’s communication strategies. The Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for promoting and protecting the First Nations reputation, specifically the Political Office, by developing and executing community relations and media relations strategies and plans for promotions, internal communications, and corporate public affairs initiatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or related discipline. Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print) Background in researching, writing and editing publications Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices. Minimum of 1-3 years communications experience required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring external and internal communication plans and activities. Develop Public Relations campaigns and events Collaborate with Administration’s Communications Coordinator Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.) Prepare and distribute press releases Submitting content for Atikameksheng Anishnawbek newsletter, flyer and website.
