Atholville Mill is currently recruiting for the following position: 2nd Class Power Engineer – Steam & Recovery Operator As the Steam & Recovery Operator you will operate and maintain a power plant or any low-pressure steam plant by operating, repairing and carrying out preventative maintenance on the boilers, emergency power, and other related equipment of the facility in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities include: Monitor control of operation through DCS (distributed computer system) Effectively troubleshoot equipment Maintain accurate and thorough log entries and perform necessary testing. Optimize and control materials to efficiently treat and dispose into recovery system. Work in collaboration of other operators. Lubricates, oils, and assists in preventative maintenance on all machinery. Maintains proper housekeeping in all related steam plant areas. Responds to trouble calls and carries out necessary corrective action during weekends and off shifts. Assists in the maintenance of all mechanical and life safety supportive systems installed in the hospital complex including automatic controls Participate in plant equipment repairs & installations; Interface with necessary contractual & inspection departments for corrective requirements. Qualifications Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate required Experience considered an asset. Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, overtime and in-calls.
