AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for the following position: Mechanical Planner Role Overview Reporting to the Planning & Shutdown Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical maintenance work to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety of mill operations. This role supports preventive maintenance, reduces downtime, and ensures maintenance aligns with production goals, while meeting safety, environmental, and cost requirements in line with company policies and regulations. Responsibilities Develop detailed work plans for mechanical maintenance jobs, including scope, labor, materials, and equipment. Prepare job packages including drawings, procedures, safety requirements, and parts lists. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and operations to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities. Maintain and update the Maintenance Management & Work Order management systems. Ensure critical spare parts availability and liaise with procurement as needed. Participate in shutdown and turnaround planning, execution, and close-out reviews. Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education. Preference will be given to graduates from a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Program or Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma; 3 years’ experience in a similar position; Experience with planning systems; Strong organization skills; Leadership and communication skills; Flexible and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
