Northern Ontario Reporting to the VP, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, the Director, ESG will lead environmental, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability initiatives across Avenir’s portfolio of critical minerals projects, including the Martison Phosphate and Lake George Antimony projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and reporting frameworks that support responsible project development. Lead environmental permitting, regulatory approvals, and environmental assessment processes across multiple jurisdictions. Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous Nations, local communities, regulators, and key stakeholders. Provide strategic ESG guidance to project teams and support projects through exploration, studies, permitting, construction, and future operations. Identify and manage environmental, social, and stakeholder risks while supporting project growth and development opportunities. Lead and mentor internal teams, consultants, and external partners. Qualifications 12+ years of leadership experience in mining, ESG, environmental permitting, sustainability, Indigenous relations, or project development. Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Sciences, Public Affairs, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of Canadian mining regulations, environmental assessment processes, and permitting requirements. Proven experience building trusted relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, regulators, and government stakeholders. Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset. Why Join Avenir? The Director, ESG will lead environmental, permitting, and sustainability initiatives across a portfolio of critical minerals projects. This includes developing ESG strategies and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous Nations, regulators, and local communities.

Candidates must have over 12 years of leadership experience in mining, ESG, or sustainability with a degree in a related science or engineering field. Strong knowledge of Canadian mining regulations and proven experience in Indigenous relations are required.
