The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Canada, Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries. Position Heavy Equipment Technician, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada. Responsibilities • Monitor and assess equipment condition to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation; identify defects and recommend repairs across a diverse fleet (e.g., dozers, excavators, haul trucks, graders, generators, crushers, loaders, drills, shovels, and compactors).• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs, executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on heavy-duty equipment.• Conduct pre-use inspections and post-repair testing to confirm equipment performance meets or exceed manufacturer specifications.• Collaborate with supervisors, planners, and site teams to effectively execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities. • Accurately document maintenance work, repairs, and deficiencies, ensuring timely reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.• Perform basic fabrication and component modifications as required, while actively participating in safety meetings and adhering to all site policies and procedures. Desired Competencies and Requirements • Three (3) years of post-qualification experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, preferably in remote environments.• Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Nunavut Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate of Qualification (CoQ).• Valid driver’s license.• Demonstrated ability in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment (e.g., dozers, excavators, haul trucks, graders, generators, crushers, loaders, drills, shovels, compactors). Compensation and Benefits For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $174,317.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $63.25 and overtime rate of $94.88) in a work year.
