SENIOR EVALUATION GEOLOGIST The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Canada, Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries. Position Senior Evaluation Geologist Introduction Senior technical member of the Corporate Exploration team, the Senior Evaluation Geologist is responsible for reviewing geological due diligence and evaluating exploration, development, operating-mine, and acquisition opportunities. The role integrates advanced geological interpretation, Mineral Resource assessment, technical-risk evaluation, and financial analysis to deliver clear recommendations for investment and transaction decisions. The position works closely with the Evaluations Manager, Exploration and the broader Evaluations team, with occasional coordination across other departments throughout the evaluation and transaction process. Location This is a full-time position based at B2Gold’s Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada. The role follows our hybrid work model of four days in-office and one day remote each week. Duties & Responsibilities Plan and complete geological evaluations from initial screening through due diligence, site visits, technical work programs, and final recommendations; Integrate relevant geological and production data to test interpretations, identify material uncertainties, and assess exploration potential and resource upside; Review and validate Mineral Resource models and estimates, including key assumptions, classifications, and data quality inputs; Assess database integrity, data lineage, survey control, sample preparation and analytical methods, QA/QC performance, chain of custody, density measurements, metallurgical representativity, and other factors that affect confidence in technical conclusion; Review technical and economic study assumptions and integrate geology with mining, metallurgy, infrastructure, environmental, permitting, social, schedule, capital, and operating-cost considerations; Prepare or review valuation models, including discounted cash flow, NPV analyses, and test key sensitivities and risks; Identify key technical, execution, jurisdictional, and data risks; distinguish fatal flaws from manageable uncertainties; define required follow-up work; and communicate value-creation opportunities; Monitor and research current information on companies, projects, transactions, and acquisition opportunities using regulatory filings, technical reports, public disclosures, and subscription databases, i.e. SEDAR and S&P Global; Prepare clear technical reports, executive summaries, presentations, review memoranda, and recommendations that document assumptions, limitations, risks, and conclusions; Provide technical advice and oversight for joint venture and equity investments, maintain constructive relationships with partners, monitor performance against agreed plans, and safeguard the Company’s interests; Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with Company requirements for handling vendor, partner, transaction, and material non-public information; Represent the Company professionally at conferences, technical meetings, site visits, government meetings, and engagements with external stakeholders including but not limited to Indigenous groups, communities, vendors, and strategic partners; and, Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related geoscience discipline from a recognized institution; Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation in good standing with a recognized Canadian or US professional association, or eligibility and active progress toward registration; Minimum 12-15 years of progressive geological experience, including exploration and Mineral Resource evaluation, project due diligence, technical studies, and/or mining operations; with at least 5 years of direct project evaluation experience; Practical mine-site experience in open-pit and/or underground operations, including exposure to grade control, reconciliation, resource conversion, or operational geology; Experience reviewing or preparing Mineral Resource estimates and contributing to scoping, preliminary economic assessment, pre-feasibility, or feasibility studies; Demonstrated ability to complete complex, time-sensitive evaluations and deliver defensible conclusions; Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with sound technical and commercial judgement and careful attention to detail; Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and valuation concepts clearly; Proficiency with relevant geological, resource modelling, GIS, and visualization software, such as Datamine, Micromine, Supervisor, Leapfrog Geo, or QGIS; Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the review and development of technical and financial models; competence with other Microsoft 365 applications is required; Proven ability to review technical reports, study assumptions, mine plans, metallurgical results, capital and operating costs, and discounted cash flow models for reasonableness and internal consistency; and, Ability to consistently organize, validate, document, and communicate large multidisciplinary datasets so that conclusions are traceable and reproducible. Additional Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Economic Geology, or a related discipline; Experience acting as, or supporting, a Qualified Person for Mineral Resource disclosure; Experience with mergers and acquisitions, transaction due diligence, joint ventures, or equity investments; Advanced resource estimation and applicable software skills Current CPR and First Aid certification; and, Professional proficiency in Spanish or French. Job Demands/Physical Requirements This position is based at B2Gold’s corporate office in Vancouver, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement of four days on site and one day working from home; Standard office hours apply, with flexibility required for project deadlines, time zones, and travels; Frequent international travel may be required, sometimes on short notice, including travel to remote or challenging environments; The role requires sufficient mobility and fitness to safely access field sites.
