The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Underground Surveyor, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Sr. Surveyor, UG, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada. Responsibilities • Conduct detailed underground surveys to determine the precise location, elevation, and dimensions of underground passages.• Utilize advanced surveying equipment and technology such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.• Perform vertical raise layouts, control surveys, stope markups and vent surveys.• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.• Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and other technical staff to integrate survey data into mining plans and operations.• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing underground surveys.• Complete risk assessments and hazard identification in surveyed areas.• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings and present them to management.• Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment. Desired Competencies and Requirements • Five (5) years’ experience in surveying underground mining production.• Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Technology, or a related field.• Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and related software (Deswik, or AutoCAD).• Knowledge of overall mining methods with a focus on underground mining methods. Compensation and Benefits For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $144,690.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $52.50 and overtime rate of $78.75) in a work year. B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
