Water Technician (Desalination)

Position Water Technician (Desalination), Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada. Responsibilities • Operate and monitor reverse osmosis (RO) and other desalination systems to ensure optimal water quality and production.• Perform regular sampling and water quality testing in accordance with company and regulatory standards.• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control components.• Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and water quality results.• Assist with upgrades, system modifications, and new installations as required.• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and health & safety protocols.• Respond to emergency breakdowns and support shutdown/start-up procedures.• Work collaboratively with environmental, maintenance, and operations teams. Desired Competencies and Requirements • Five (5) years' experience operating desalination or industrial water treatment systems in remote or Arctic environments.• Technical diploma or certificate in Water Treatment, Environmental Technology, or related field.• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with SCADA or PLC-controlled systems. Compensation and Benefits For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $157,092.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $57.00 and overtime rate of $85.50) in a work year. The Water Technician will operate and monitor desalination systems while performing regular water quality testing and maintenance. They are also responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental permits and responding to emergency breakdowns.

Candidates must have at least five years of experience operating desalination or industrial water treatment systems in remote or Arctic environments. A technical diploma or certificate in Water Treatment or Environmental Technology is also required.
