Header Subcontractor Quality Assurance Manager (Permanent) Victoria, BC Expected Salary: $88,641 to $116,341 To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. Additionally, colleagues can contribute directly to a TFSAFlexibility in How We Work• We offer an agile workplace for several positions • An option of a compressed work schedule supports work/life interests • Competitive annual vacation time off and additional time off during our holiday closure Growth and recognition• A comprehensive colleague recognition program and bonus program• Training and support for professional development and professional membership dues Description In this role, you will: • Support subcontractor quality assurance activities in accordance with requirements established through Babcock client contracts. • Monitor subcontractor performance against contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements, identifying risks and driving improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with applicable contractual obligations, quality management system requirements, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. • Manage Subcontractor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely investigation, disposition, corrective action implementation, and closure. • Support root cause investigations and oversee corrective and preventive action plans to prevent recurrence of quality issues. • Serve as a key quality interface with stakeholders, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and internal technical teams. • Support the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining and improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System within the business unit / project, including continued certification to ISO 9001. • Assist in coordinating the scheduling of audits / conduct of internal audits and support customer, regulatory, and certification audits. • Support the maintenance of corporate ISO certifications and other quality-related registrations as applicable. • Work with project and business unit management teams to identify opportunities for operational excellence, process improvement, and risk reduction across business sectors. • Analyze quality performance metrics, trends, and risks, providing recommendations and reports to management and stakeholders. • Promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. • Provide quality leadership, guidance, and subject matter expertise to business leaders, project teams, and subcontractors. • Promote and foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction throughout Babcock Canada. • Represent the Quality function at customer meetings, program reviews, audits, and quality review boards as required. • Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate brings: • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, in a related field. • Have experience in industrial activities including repair and maintenance of ships and submarines, or heavy equipment (considered a strong asset).• Have a minimum 8 years of experience in Subcontractor Quality assurance management, product quality and quality control, preferably in a complex engineering environment.• Must have a strong ability to communicate orally and in writing to all levels of the business and with Subcontractors.• Strong collaborative skill set with various business process groups and subcontractors.• Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Black Belt Six Sigma, or any other relevant Quality Certification form a recognized institution.• Knowledge and experience in a highly regulated industry with contract and complex quality standards, ISO 9001 or similar, regulatory, or specific industry standards. • Strong skills in process improvement, with preference for qualifications in LEAN, implementation, FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), First Article Inspection Process. • Experience managing large data sets, with skills in data analytics.• Ability to use the suite of MS Office, and SharePoint.• Must be able to demonstrate well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.• Must be proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation. • Have experience and/or qualifications in business analysis, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma or equivalent considered an asset.• You must be eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.Footer Babcock is committed to promoting a workforce without boundaries.
