Security Guard - Edson

Backwoods Security Services is currently seeking a Security Guard to work in a shelter setting in Edson, AB. (LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY - Must live within an hour of Edson, Alberta) Wage: $18.00 / Hour Shift: 7nights on 7 nights off (12 hour shifts) What we offer: * Competitive Health Benefit Package after 6 months * All uniforms and PPE * Career growth opportunities * You will be eligible for wage reviews every six (6) months, with potential increases based on performance, attendance, and overall contribution Job Responsibilities: * Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises * Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points * Access Control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required * Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary * Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required * Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls * Arrive on time for shift. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the on-call supervisor ahead of time * Able to work efficiently and effectively both as part of a team or individually Job Requirements: * Minimum 1 year experience in a Security Guard position (preferred) * Valid Alberta Security License (required) * Valid Standard First Aid Certification (required) * Overtime work may be required * MUST BE LOCAL to Edson (within 1 hour) Please note that only Permanent Residence and Canadian citizens are eligible for consideration.

Maintain a safe environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and controlling site access. Responsible for reporting irregularities and completing daily hazard and incident reports.

Requires a valid Alberta Security License and Standard First Aid Certification. Candidates must be local to Edson and hold Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency.
