Job Title: Technical Lead - Detail Design Location: Halifax, NS What you’ll be doing: Lead the design team, applying technical expertise to complex design tasks Provide advice, guidance, and mentoring to team members, ensuring adherence to Detail Design processes and Design Management Systems (LCM) Identify and escalate complex design issues, advising on technical resolutions that impact program delivery Ensure all engineering deliverables meet standards, rules, and regulatory requirements Contribute to technical governance by ensuring compliance with the Quality Management process and supporting approvals for spatial designs and systems Provide expert technical advice to other professionals, technical staff, and customers, using judgment and experience to resolve issues based on best practices and precedent Your skills and experiences: Solid technical leadership and mentorship skills Expertise in Detail Design processes, Design Management Systems (LCM), and CAD tools Experience with designing in the structural or outft domain Ability to escalate and advise on technical issues impacting program delivery Posses a degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance and paid sick leave. The Detail Design team: This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within Canada’s River Class Destroyer program and lead complex design activities in a collaborative, high-performance team. As the Technical Lead, you will lead a team of ten designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective design solutions. You will provide technical expertise, guide team members, manage complex design activities, and ensure compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements.
