Serve as a representative of Baffinland Iron Mines in the community. Report to the Community and Strategic Development’s Assistant Manager to assist in providing information to the community, conducting and coordinating various community meetings, assist in developing and delivering skills/training programs, supporting recruitment programs, supporting other Baffinland community representatives, and various other tasks and responsibilities as required. Main Accountabilities Serve as the representative for Baffinland by being the main point of contact for community members and sharing company information with the public Work with Baffinland and Contractor Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) employees by notifying them of flight times Assist the ground transportation service provider in picking up FIFO employees and dropping them off. Being at the airport to provide and contact FIFO employees with regards to their flight. Support recruitment initiatives conducted by both Baffinland and its Contractors. Provide feedback to Management about issues/concerns that are raised in the community in a timely basis. Support potential candidates to apply for training programs offered by Baffinland (i.e. Apprenticeship and Work Readiness Program). Participate in community meetings to provide updates on Baffinland activities and/or share updates to Baffinland on community initiatives. Assist in the development of various presentations within the company. Assist in the preparation of meetings in the community with Baffinland and at times for contracted partners with Baffinland, such as Employment and Training Information Sessions (booking catering, venue, vehicle rental, hotel, translator) Assist in planning and coordinating community-based training programs including WRP, ETIS, and new Baffinland-funded initiatives; support participant registration, documentation, attendance tracking, and on-site coordination. Promote WRP and ETIS training schedules within the community to ensure strong participation; liaise with Nunavut Arctic College, high schools, and local partners to align training with community needs. Undergo training and receive ongoing support to deliver the Community Work Ready Program (WRP); prepare materials, facilitate sessions, and engage participants across the community. Provide support to Baffinland training initiatives such as Work Ready Programs conducted within Community (including booking catering, venue, vehicle rental, hotel). Hosting the Employment and Training Information Sessions, distributing information about Baffinland Delivering presentations to groups of students at the local high schools as part of the Employment and Training Information Sessions Support onboarding requirements for new hires including e-learning completion, training forms, and guidance for community-based candidates coming through WRP and ETIS pathways. Assist HR in exit interviews, handling of grievances and complaints, pay & benefits functions, onboarding training. Assist contractors in contacting employees and connecting employees to HR. Take photos of social activities Baffinland supported and Baffinland events, along with getting media consent forms signed. Work with and support the Community Relations Guide and Inuit Knowledge Holder. Organize & plan for social events. Must be able to take minutes at meetings and have them typed and formatted in a professional manner. As required, translating and Support-interpreting service to Baffinland staff and management. As required, provide assistance to the translation team by either translating, or proofreading. Other duties as assigned/needed. Main Qualifications three (3) years experience of Office Admin, leadership, community engagement, and organizational skills. fluent in Inuktitut and English Enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement, with a thorough knowledge of Inuit Culture Must know how to work with MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook etc. Handle of confidential information proactively Must know how to read and write syllabics. Proven ability to communicate with key stakeholders including community members, Inuit Associations and government agencies. Must have good people skills. Ability to deliver clear and confident presentations to groups, effectively engaging audiences and communicating key messages. Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks on a timely basis. Proven ability to work independently and in a professional manner. Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary. Job Location Arctic Bay, NU, Canada

Exigences
