Job Title: Compliance Testing Manager – 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Markham, Ontario Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract (6 Months) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Compliance Testing Manager to join our Compliance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for leading compliance testing engagements across the Bank, including testing related to regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, internal policies, and key control processes. The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end testing process, including risk assessment, scoping, test planning, sampling, execution, issue identification, reporting, and remediation validation. The role will also provide guidance to other compliance testers and work closely with business and control functions to strengthen the Bank's compliance control environment. What You Will Do Lead compliance testing engagements across the Bank, including areas related to AML/ATF, sanctions, regulatory compliance, and internal policies and procedures. Develop and execute risk-based testing plans, including scoping, sampling methodologies, testing scripts, and detailed test procedures. Assess the design and operating effectiveness of compliance controls and determine adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards. Evaluate compliance with relevant accounting guidance, policies, procedures, and business processes where applicable. Analyze testing results, identify control weaknesses and compliance gaps, and recommend practical remediation actions. Prepare clear and comprehensive testing documentation, working papers, findings, and reports. Track remediation activities and perform validation testing to confirm that identified issues have been appropriately addressed and closed. Communicate testing findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders and management. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to other compliance testers to support consistent and effective testing practices. Support continuous improvement of compliance testing methodologies, testing scripts, and procedures. Assist with other compliance activities, projects, and departmental priorities as required. What You Bring to the Table Bachelor's degree or equivalent education. Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance testing, internal audit, regulatory compliance, or a related control function, preferably within banking or financial services. Strong knowledge of banking regulatory compliance, including AML/ATF and sanctions requirements. Demonstrated experience conducting end-to-end compliance testing, including planning, scoping, sampling, test execution, documentation, issue reporting, and remediation validation. Strong understanding of testing methodologies, internal controls, and testing script development. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, or designation in progress, is considered an asset. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify control gaps and develop practical recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organization. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple testing engagements and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard business applications. Proficiency in Chinese is considered an asset but is not required.
