Description We are looking for a Baptist pastor to fill a vacancy at Humber Boulevard Baptist Church Overview of Church and Community Humber Boulevard Baptist Church was founded in 1920 and has had an active congregation for over 100 years! We are located near Black Creek Drive and Weston Road and have seen our neighbourhood change but our fervour for the Lord remains unchanged. Church Purpose | Mission Statement Humber Boulevard Baptist Church exists to be a community in Christ, which knows and glorifies God and makes him known. We accept the Bible as our authority in matters of Faith and Practice. We believe that Christians should enjoy the freedom to read and interpret Scriptures under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, we wish to affirm the things we hold in common not as a creed imposed upon our members, but as an affirmation of those beliefs, which form the basis for our unity. Qualifications And Education Requirements Sociable and Approachable Firmly rooted in the Scripture, and truly allows the Holy Spirit to speak Strong understanding of Scripture and Christian living Personal relationship with Jesus Christ Able to lead a service for one hour and fifteen minutes A dynamic speaker Worship leader Bi-vocational preferred Accredited or pursuing accreditation with Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) Completion of a vulnerable sector check is required Role and Responsibilities We are looking for a bi-vocational Pastor who is committed to leading and growing the church congregation. The Pastor should come prepared to preach on Sunday mornings, lead a weekly Bible study and have fellowship with the congregation. Preaching And Teaching Deliver sermons and messages that are rooted in Scripture and relevant to the lives of the congregation in a dynamic way. Have a firm understanding of Baptist values, as outlined in our Church Constitution Uphold the Constitution of the church in all dealings Provide teaching and guidance through weekly Bible study, supporting the Women’s Ministry and have plans for growing the church. Counselling would be preferable Worship The ideal candidate will lead the congregation through singing. Playing an instrument or managing AV system is preferred. The pastor will communicate their song choices in advance of Sunday service to a member of the church Responsible for the entire order of service, which is about an hour and 15 minutes every Sunday. Pastoral Care Being approachable and willing to counsel members of the congregation as the need arises Addressing the congregation’s needs as they arise i.e. visiting the sick Leadership and Administration Uphold the Constitution of the church in all dealings Be able to spiritually lead the congregation and the officers according to the Lord’s direction. The Pastor is responsible for delivering scripture-based sermons, leading weekly Bible studies, and managing the entire Sunday order of service. Additionally, the role involves providing pastoral care, counseling members, and implementing a long-term growth plan for the congregation.

Candidates should be firmly rooted in Scripture, a dynamic speaker, and preferably bi-vocational. Accreditation with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) and a completed vulnerable sector check are required.
