As a key member of the Branch team, the Yard Attendant plays a vital role in keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment ready and operating safely, reliably, and effectively. What You’ll Be Doing * Inspect rental equipment before and after each rental to ensure proper condition and safety. * Prepare and transport rental equipment from the yard to customer vehicles or delivery trucks. * Store equipment in designated yard zones or transfer units to the shop when repairs are needed. * Wash, clean, and grease equipment as required. * Fill propane tanks and monitor propane and fuel inventory levels. * Clean, wash, and inspect rental construction equipment as part of daily operations. * Explain safe and proper equipment operation to customers. * Perform other duties as assigned to support branch operations. * Ensure rental equipment is securely fastened in customer vehicles. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and work environment. * Verify that all required identification and decals are present on rental equipment. * Collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment. * Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices, making sure everyone stays safe. What We're Looking For * Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision. * Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction equipment and building products. * Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills. * Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50lbs. * Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and Battlefield’s health and safety policies. * Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued. * Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Experience operating lift trucks is an asset. * A technical understanding of CAT equipment would be considered an asset. * A high school diploma or equivalent.
