Surgical Technologist Certified

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc. Assists with inventory of sterile supplies. May assist in patient transport. Position Details Location: St Josephs Womens Status: Full Time, Exempt: No Shift Hours: 6:45pm - 7:15am Weekend Work: Every Other On Call: No Requirements Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience. The Surgical Technologist provides technical support during the perioperative period under RN supervision. Key duties include preparing sterile fields, managing instruments and supplies, and coordinating specimen disposal.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma and certification from NBSTSA or NCCT, along with BLS certification. Education requirements include completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military/hospital training with 5 years of experience.
