We are currently seeking a compassionate and professional Registered Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide one-to-one client support in Burnaby. This role is ideal for an experienced Health Care Aide who is passionate about promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life while delivering person-centred care and support. The successful candidate will develop a positive and respectful working relationship with the client while assisting with activities of daily living, community participation, mobility, and individualized support needs as outlined in the care plan. This position requires a dependable, mature, and professional individual who can work independently while maintaining a high standard of care and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate, person-centred support in accordance with the client's individualized care plan. Assist with activities of daily living and promote client independence wherever possible. Support the client with community participation, social engagement, and daily routines. Foster a respectful and professional relationship that promotes dignity, inclusion, and quality of life. Observe and report changes in the client's condition, abilities, or support needs. Maintain accurate documentation and communication in accordance with Bayshore policies and procedures. Follow established safety protocols and infection prevention and control practices. Collaborate with supervisors, family members, and interdisciplinary team members as required. Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality at all times. Education Graduate of a recognized Health Care Aide, Resident Care Attendant, Community Health Worker, or equivalent program. Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certification Experience & Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of recent experience as a Health Care Aide. Demonstrated experience providing client-centred care and support. Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and professional accountability. Experience supporting adults with varying physical, cognitive, or complex care needs is considered an asset. Strong observation and reporting skills. Ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining a calm and professional approach. Experience working in home care, community care, assisted living, or related healthcare settings is preferred. Additional Requirements Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry. Ability to successfully complete all required onboarding, screening, and credential verification processes. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
