NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.The successful candidate will demonstrate:Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environmentOral, written and cultural fluency (mastery level) in modern languages.Experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of modern languages within an online learning environment at the secondary school levelExperience working with the delivery of modern languages through Rosetta Stone and Brightspace.Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management systemAdvanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educatorsExperience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learningAbility to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in personAbility to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.sOur educational team is committed to engaging learners to develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and social competencies.
