Official Internal Job Title: Automotible Estimator Status: Regular Job Description: You will be responsible for the assessment of motor vehicle repair costs and assist in the adjustment and settlement of automobile physical damage claims. You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring a junior Appraiser, as well as developing standards and procedures for claims settlements. You possess superior customer service skills to work with customers, brokers and repair facilities. Responsibilities: Utilize the automated estimating system to prepare and complete repair estimates that accurately reflects the damage and dollar amount of the loss. Communicate repair estimate information to customers, vendors, and claim representatives. Evaluate actual cash value of vehicles declared a total loss and negotiate settlements. Investigate and report any fraudulent claims. Audit vehicle damage losses; verify that repairs are properly completed according to the appraisal and document findings. Supervise the work of auto estimators on the team and oversee the development of their skills; Reviewing estimation records during conflicts of opinion; Collaborate in setting standards for automotive estimation; Collaborate in the development of quality control methods of independent automotive estimators, direct repairers and junior appraisers, as well as the quality of repairs carried out by the body shop owners; Ensure customer satisfaction and monitors and handles complaints where applicable; Check repairs (re-check) with different suppliers if necessary; Control the quality of customer service with the various body shops including the owners if applicable; Follow up on agreements with accredited garages and enter into or renew agreements with different suppliers; Controls the average cost of automotive suppliers and ensures compliance with the agreements. Performs other tasks as required. Flexible with work hours based on company needs. Travel is required and not defined to any specific area. Qualifications: Excellent communication and negotiation skills Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading a team of Appraisers Minimum of 5-7 years of vehicle damage appraisal and collision repair industry experience Working knowledge of the Automated Estimating System I-CAR accreditation (an asset) Licensed Auto Body Repairer (an asset) Automotive Damage Appraisal Certification (or similar related certification) Hybrid Setting: Minimum 1 day in the office a week Salary Range: : $78 874 - $98 592 /year This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position.
