Official Internal Job Title: Individual Insurance and Financial Services Sales Representative Status: Regular Job Description: The Life Insurance Sales Director reports to the Regional Vice President, Individual Insurance and Investment Products. The Life Insurance Sales Director role is to build awareness, brand and sales for Beneva by developing strong business relationships with advisors, focusing on segmented primary advisors in the MGAs assigned to them. They will succeed at this through understanding the advisor’s needs, offering business building ideas as well as sound product solutions and case consultation where required. They will support the Sales Directors and Back-office Team within the MGA organizations coordinating presentations, activities, & events to further promote Beneva. Vacancy: 1 Permanent Salary range: $ 78,874 - $112,149 /year. *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications and experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Build on existing individual insurance product knowledge at Beneva and at an industry level and develop and maintain an expert knowledge of Beneva’s product position in the marketplace. 2. Plan, organize and implement a territory specific sales strategy to acquire new advisor relationships, build on existing relationships and maintain existing key relationships with a segment of advisors who view Beneva as a primary business partner. 3. Develop a sound understanding of the key advisors in the territory and their business model, marketplace, target market and product usage such that you can provide these advisors with the support and advice to further develop their businesses. 4. When required, work with advisor on specific case consultation including case development, competitive review, material support and client presentation including to the clients’ professional advisors. 5. Update and report on current relationships and business building activity through an established CRM and sales management process. 6. Develop and deliver one on one or group presentations and supporting materials, to build awareness of the brand and sales for Beneva in the assigned territory of MGA offices, Industry events and Beneva specific events. 7. Promote Beneva’s image and the quality of our products, services and procedures at one on one, group and industry presentations and events. Build awareness in the territory as the representative of Beneva. 8. Work with MGA offices in the territory to develop strong business relationships, provide Beneva product and service knowledge, and acquire mutually beneficial opportunities to contact new or potential Beneva advisors of the MGA. 9. Work closely with the Inside Sales Representative and other Director(s) of Business Development for the region to provide a coordinated process to acquire new advisor relationships, build on existing relationships and maintain existing key relationships. 10. Be aware of key and developing advisor’s business activity to the point that unusual or suspect or non-compliant activity is recognized and reported to management and compliance as required. 11. Attend meetings and training sessions organized by the Company and provide constructive feedback on products, services and marketing materials. 12. Participate in the training and integration of new representatives or other department employees when required. 13. Acquire and maintain professional credentials and licenses, and keep up to date on industry related issues, events, and changes or new introductions. REQUIREMENTS • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or other relevant degree, an industry designation, or significant work experience • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial product sales to independent advisors • Able to work from home/road in a virtual office environment • Ability to travel 50% of the time within given territory • License in Life Insurance or in the process of undertaking to obtain this is an asset • An aptitude for sales and business development, consultative sales and relationship management • Excellent verbal and written English communications and presentation skills • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset • CFP, CLU, CHFC, CFA designations are an asset Note the sales territory for this position is in Alberta.
