Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. At heights. Cold/refrigerated. Dangerous. Hot. Noisy. Outdoors. Wet/damp. Work setting: Industrial. Prefab/shop fabrication. Roads and bridges. Various locations. Tasks: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials. Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Instruct apprentices. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Cement Finisher Trade Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Type of materials: Colours and sealers. Light weight concrete. Reinforcing membrane and protective covering. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves. Personal suitability: Accurate. Excellent oral communication. Team player. Dependability.
