Job Title: Pension & Benefits Specialist Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent This is a specialist-level position that combines deep pension and benefits expertise with strategic support for organizational growth and transformation initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and business integrations. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, leading pension and benefits due diligence, integration activities, plan harmonization efforts, and program optimization across acquired and existing business units. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and submit pension filings and benefits reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines and legislation Conduct pension and benefits due diligence during M&A transactions, identifying risks, liabilities, compliance concerns, and integration requirements. Administer multiple benefits plans in line with plan policies and corporate governance requirements Lead HR system integrations and implementations from a pension and benefits perspective Recommend and drive improvements to pension and retirement processes Act as subject matter expert for HR, Payroll, Managers, and employees on all benefits-related matters Manage service provider relationships, resolve claims and coverage issues, and validate billings for payment Support annual benefits enrolment, pension audits, financial statement preparation, and year-end processes Provide timely guidance to employees, retirees, and HR teams across Canada QUALIFICATIONS 4–6+ years of progressive pension and benefits experience, including broad-based and executive plans Strong knowledge of Canadian benefits legislation, compliance, and filing requirements 2–3 years of SAP or equivalent HRIS/benefits platform experience Demonstrated experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, or organizational change initiatives from a pension and benefits perspective. College or university degree; CEBS designation completed or in progress preferred Total Rewards experience is a strong asset
