BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Total Rewards The starting annual salary range for this role is $115,000 - 144,000 CAD. Additional rewards includes a short-term incentive bonus program, health plan, personal spending account, dental, life insurance, and pension.The Challenge Ahead This role will support the Operations and Maintenance Lead in the management of the Legacy Assets sites in Elliot Lake. The successful candidate provides support through coordination across line and functional teams. The position is based in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. In this role you will: Contributes to all aspects of maintenance of site infrastructure, pumpstations and 5 Effluent Treatment Plants. Participates in all aspects of preventative, corrective and reliability maintenance in work management planning process framework to ensure equipment and infrastructure are running efficiently. Lead fleet light vehicle maintenance management ensuring all aspects including tire management, 6 month inspections and repair work are completed as per OEM and internal standards. Operate water treatment facilities to ensure compliant water quality and adequate water level management. Performs water sampling and in-field water quality tests as per the Elliot Lake/Serpent River sampling schedule. Performs inspections of dams, signage, spillways, mine openings, etc. Provide hands on or contractor supervision as needed for various tasks (welding, snow removal, herbicide application, brushing, road repairs, ETP, pumpstation preventative and repair maintenance or other tasks as needed). Provides efficient and safe job planning, purchasing and inventory management. Participate in the planning, control, execution, monitoring and improvement of site operations including but not limited to: water treatment plants, water conveyance infrastructure, tailings storage facilities, tailings OMS management, legacy mine infrastructure, compliance reporting etc. Provides after hour support when required and included in shared rotational On Call Responsibilities. Participate in team reporting, planning, continuous improvement and risk management activities Compliance with all local legislation and regulations, Group Level Documents and localasset procedures including safety, health, environment and community. Contribute to improvement initiatives and apply BOS (BHP Operating System) principles in everyday work. Ensure to follow and have actions that support compliance with HSEC principals and the Legacy Assets HSE framework. Ensure that all work is executed safely and according to design with the goal of zero harm to personnel and environment. Other tasks may be required on an as needed basis. What You’ll Bring to the Role A minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry, mining, environmental, projects or care and maintenance activities. Background with industrial experience as a certified heavy duty mechanic or certified Millwright. Strong maintenance background and ability to diagnose and prevent issues. Experience using maintenance planning systems such as SAP, eMaint or other maintenance planning systems will be considered an asset. General understanding of water treatment, environmental monitoring and closed site management practices. Operating field experience including creation of Job Risk Assessments, reading and reviewing procedures. Solid interpersonal skills including an ability to interact and communicate professionally and respectfully with site staff, functional support teams, community and regulatory agency representatives. Complete Supervisor Basic Occupational Health and Safety Awareness in Five Steps training program developed by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. Ability to supervise small projects works as required.
