We enable impactful mentoring relationships where children and youth can discover their power and potential, in collaboration with our local communities. , Ready to volunteer? Our In-School Mentoring Program pairs you with one elementary school student who you share common interests with. Matches spend one-hour once per week together on school grounds doing non-academic activities such as playing sports, games, creating art or just hanging out at the playground. Our matches are paired for the duration, or remainder, of the academic school-year. Our Big Buddies are Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals. Mentors who Little Buddies can talk to, learn from, and share experiences with. Available 1 hour per week during school hours (weekdays between 10am and 3pm). Our Little Buddies are Students grade 1 to 7 nominated by teachers, staff or by themselves. Children who could use a bit of extra 1-on-1 attention, need to build confidence, or may have trouble connecting with peers. Locations Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Richmond, Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby and Vancouver Benefits Opportunities for free tickets or admission vouchers to Big Brothers matches. Volunteers must be adults aged 18 or older and currently living in Greater Vancouver. They should be able to commit to one hour per week during school hours.
