About The Position Dear Grain is seeking Full time Baristas to join us at Roncesvalles location. We are looking for a candidate role who has a passion for coffee, community and enjoys working as part of a team. Candidates must possess natural affinity for service and have outstanding emotional intelligence and soft-skills. The successful candidate will be excited at the chance to grow a coffee focused hospitality business and embrace the challenges that come along with it. General Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service and foster a warm and inclusive environment Prepare coffee beverages according to company recipes (with a specific emphasis on accurate dial-ins of our Espresso menu) Support all product and services at cafe including food, pastry and merchandising Continue to enhance collaboration with our partners at Dear Grain Bakery Represent Dear Grain within the Toronto specialty coffee community Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Dear Grain Follow health and safety policies Provide management with feedback on how we can improve our processes Demonstrate strategic understanding of food service operations by providing recommendations. Execute(when necessary) ordering, inventory management, queue management, and more Follows all operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling & safety, security during each shift Taking food and beverage orders using POS system (when necessary) Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [Specify weight, e.g., 25 pounds]. Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions. Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience within a coffee program Well-developed personal brand and a proven ability to build relationships across an industry. Should be an active member of the specialty coffee community A proven executor that has participated the successful growth of food properties Comfortable with key hospitality software including POS, scheduling and purchasing systems Highly accountable and well-organized, with an ability to oversee a team of staff and prioritize multiple projects An insatiable curiosity and willingness to learn, anchored in a constant pursuit of personal development Collaborative and innovative consensus builder that solicits 360-degree feedback Can inspire and influence staff, consumers and other stakeholders A positive ambassador with strong communication skills and a genuine kindness, thoughtfulness. Must Have Barista experience : 1 year Hospitality: 1 year Specialty coffee : 1 year Schedule and Pay Full Time: 40 hours a week Monday to Friday Weekends as needed Compensation $17.60 to $18.00 While we thank all applicants for their interest, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
