Description IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Assistant Researcher Position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit to work on the development of catalytic materials for CO2 valorization into chemicals and fuels. We are looking for a candidate with a comprehensive background in Chemistry and/or Material Science, to work on the preparation of catalysts based on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 conversion. The candidate should be highly motivated, capable of driving his/her own research project independently while actively collaborating with other members of the unit. The Requirements Are As Follows Tasks Description:. Monitoring of the state of the art of the fundamentals and technological advances related to the project. Design, synthesis, and full characterization of new catalysts based on MOFs and MOF composites. Catalytic testing (CO2 cycloaddition, (photo)carboxylation of amines) Discussion and critical analysis of the experimental results. Supervision and training of Bachelor/Master students, technicians and predoctoral/postdoctoral researchers. Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentations in congresses, social media, etc. Preparation of project proposals to national and international calls. Coordination and management of research projects. Requirements Compulsory Requirements PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or equivalent. At least 7 years of postdoctoral research activities related to the profile of the position Demonstrated experience and solid background on synthesis (MOFs), modification (composites) and characterization (XRD, fluid sorption, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, etc.) Experience in catalytic reactions associated with CO2 conversion NOTE: Each compulsory requirement must be explicitly stated and addressed individually in the CV. Failure to clearly confirm compliance with all mandatory criteria is not clearly confirmed, the application will not be considered eligible. Merits To Value Appreciated knowledge on heterogeneous catalysis and related techniques (GC, HPLC, etc.). Independent thinking and creativity International research experience. International research stays during the postdoctoral period will be valued Proven experience in the preparation of proposals with public and private funding, mostly those related to the research topic Experience in supervision of internships, BSc/MSc and PhD Thesis. Experienced in national and/or international research projects and collaborations. Management and application. Strong publication record. Very good scientific writing skills, ability to write peer-reviewed papers independently. Oral and written communication skills in English. Motivation to pursue the goals of the project. Selection Criteria Adequacy of the candidate's PhD experience to the requested profile. Work experience related to the profile of the job position Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research. Knowledge of English Conditions Remuneration: Between 44.000€ - 50.000€ Gross Salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
