Our Client Our client is a highly regarded, full-service firm seeking a Business Operations Manager to lead the Legal Assistants and Paralegals supporting its Business Law and Litigation practices. The role is located in Dartmouth, NS and is fully in-office. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role, managing a large support team while partnering closely with lawyers to ensure exceptional client service, efficient workflow, and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team of Legal Assistants and Paralegals across the Business Law and Litigation groups. Manage day-to-day people leadership, including performance management, annual reviews, work allocation, vacation approvals, and staff development. Partner closely with lawyers and firm leadership to coordinate workflow, allocate resources, and ensure exceptional client service. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of team members. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and implement best practices across the practice groups. Participate in firm-wide strategic initiatives, including technology, practice management, and AI implementation projects. Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and positive team culture while building strong relationships across the firm. Requirements Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience, ideally managing professional support staff within a legal or other professional services environment. Previous experience within the legal industry is strongly preferred, particularly in Business Law, Corporate, Commercial, or Real Estate practice areas, although exceptional leadership candidates from other professional services environments will also be considered. Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and managing employee performance. Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups. Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset. Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies. REF# LI1735
