Our Client Our client is a leading Canadian pharmacy and health & wellness retailer seeking a Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in Toronto. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of businesses across the pharmacy, healthcare, wellness, and specialty services sectors, including affiliated rehabilitation and specialty health organizations. This role sits within a broader enterprise legal group and offers exposure to a sophisticated mix of commercial, regulatory, and strategic legal work. The successful candidate will advise on corporate/commercial matters, healthcare and pharmacy regulatory issues, strategic initiatives, smaller-scale M&A transactions, and increasingly technology-focused matters, including SaaS, privacy-adjacent, data-sharing, and other technology agreements. The legal team works closely with business stakeholders across multiple operating divisions and collaborates regularly with specialized enterprise legal groups, including privacy, franchising, and technology teams. Location & Hybrid Structure: Hybrid work model with 3 days/week preferred in the North York office Additional flexibility to work from downtown Toronto or Brampton offices 1 day/week remote Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial, technology, and healthcare-related agreements, including SaaS, data-sharing, supply, distribution, and professional services agreements Advise business stakeholders on pharmacy, healthcare, and health professions regulatory matters Support strategic business initiatives, transactions, and operational matters across multiple affiliated businesses Assist with smaller-scale corporate and M&A matters Provide practical, business-oriented legal and risk-management advice to internal teams Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on technology contracting, privacy-adjacent matters, and evolving digital initiatives Manage and liaise with external counsel where required Contribute to the development and improvement of legal templates, processes, and operational efficiencies Participate actively within a collaborative and high-performing legal team environment Requirements Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Approximately 2-4 years of post-call experience gained at a leading law firm and/or sophisticated in-house legal department Strong corporate/commercial drafting and negotiation experience Experience with technology agreements, SaaS, privacy, data-sharing, or healthcare/pharmacy-related matters is considered a strong asset Exposure to regulatory, corporate commercial, and/or M&A work preferred Bay Street training strongly preferred Candidates with in-house experience at established organizations or major technology companies will also be considered Strong business judgment and the ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice Self-starter with excellent organizational, prioritization, and project-management skills Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities Interest in technology contracting and evolving privacy-related legal work is highly valued French bilingualism is considered an asset REF# LI1682
