About This Career Opportunity Reporting to the Division Manager, the Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Mechanical and multi-trades projects from inception to completion. They play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, schedule creation, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Project Financial Performance: Manage a project’s financial performance by way of forecasting, cost control, change order, billing and project reporting. Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors. Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of Construction and engineering principles, National Plumbing Code and industry standards. Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and enforce safety protocols on the job site. Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve project issues and challenges in a timely manner. Competency Requirements Change Orientation Planning and Organization Skills Communicates Effectively Continuous Learning Negotiation Skills Relationship Management Customer Focus Holds Self and Others Accountable Problem Solving and Innovation Leadership, Teamwork and Collaboration Values and Respects Others Education / Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a construction diploma or a combination of education and related field experience Though not required, a PMP Certification or related diploma in Project Management would be considered an asset Experience managing teams and/or contractor relationships Experience coordinating procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services Ability to identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce schedule impacts, cost overruns, and operational disruptions Experience managing subcontractor performance, scope execution, contract compliance, and project deliverables Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong leadership and team management abilities Problem-solving and decision-making skills Knowledge of codes and regulations AutoCad and Revit experience would be considered an asset Previous Procore experience an asset Work Experience Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in construction, mechanical contracting, project management, or a related field, including leadership experience supervising project teams, subcontractors, or field personnel Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements Contract management Construction scheduling, planning, and execution Understanding of construction documents Business operations processes Organization and time management Must be able to obtain a Level II Secret Clearance Willing and able to travel within New-Brunswick MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) The expected salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $80,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
