The Project Coordinator is located offsite and typically reports directly to the Operation Manager. Project Coordinators work on site planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating assigned project(s) from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. Their primary focus is safety, planning, monitoring progress, scheduling, quality, costs management, estimating, reporting, and managing project change under the direction of senior leadership. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the Project Manager to ensure site project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications are met Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships Review shop drawing submittals for conformance to the specifications and agreed upon subcontractor scopes and submit after review with Project Manager Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients Establish effective onsite communication with Trade and subcontractors for coordination purposes Document control and tracking Coordinate with Site Foreman/Project Manager to purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project using project estimate and budgets as guidance Assist in coordination and record keeping of Start-up, Commissioning and Training activities Coordinate with Site Foreman/Project Manager to ensure that As-built Drawings are maintained, and all changes noted including RFI information WHAT YOU CAN OFFER Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Degree, College Diploma or Journeyman or equivalent qualifications 1-5 years of Project Coordination experience Experience in small projects up to $2M is considered an asset Project experience in water and wastewater treatment construction, process and mechanical piping are an asset SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Proficient knowledge and understanding of: Contract management Construction scheduling, planning, and execution Blueprint reading Project structural design interpretation Financial statements – read and comprehend Organization and time management Proficient user of: MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system is an asset. The expected salary range for this role is between $52,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs. Exigences
Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualifications. A minimum of 1 to 5 years of project coordination experience is required, preferably in water and wastewater construction.
