Essential Duties And Responsibilities Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition (apply 5S principles). Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order. Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the supervisor. Complete reports and Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) (complete all tasks, fill all fields as directed) Perform tasks including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machinery and equipment. Ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and Observe equipment concerns and initiate corrective action/repair. Perform unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. Respond in a timely manner to any mechanical breakdowns. Troubleshoot and locate root causes of problems by observation, testing, and talking with operators. Fabricate or modify repair parts using machine shop equipment. Report parts taken from inventory. Notify parts clerk, lead or supervisor of any parts and supplies needed to be Document all work to ensure accurate maintenance records; ensure production operation is aware of status of equipment and improve overall communication between shifts. Participate in shift walkabout, liaising with production employees, leads and supervisors to document and report concerns and deficiencies and to prioritize reactive and preventive maintenance tasks for the shift. Note: The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position Physical Requirements Must stand, walk for prolonged periods of time; climb stairs, portable ladders, vertical ladders Regularly required to bend, stoop, reach Lift in excess of 75 on an occasional basis Exposed to varying temperatures hot/cold Occasional work at heights Safety, Quality And Hygiene Requirements Comply with laws, regulations, policies and procedures for safety and quality including machinery lockout, GMPs, and HACCP. Wear uniform and prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) incl. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair net, beard net. Wear task-specific PPE when needed (e.g. fall arrest harness). Performance Expectations Communicate with others to address issues and coordinate work activities Work focused on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment Comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures Develop a thorough understanding of each production process including components and functions Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Comply with all company policies, procedures, Code of Conduct and company core values Ensure all metrics and downtime reports are completed Skills And Work Experience Requirements Experience or training in blueprint reading, operator & maintenance manuals, rotating machinery (e.g. bearings, gearboxes, pumps, fans, blowers), preventive maintenance, hydraulics, rigging, basic electrical theory, PLCs, welding, machine tools, measuring instruments. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, portable power tools, and shop tools (mill, lathe, welder, brake, shear, press, saws). Able to use software applications on a computer, tablet, or mobile phone, including the CMMS Able to read and write Certified forklift experience is an Work experience as an Apprentice - Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433A Education Minimum high school diploma or equivalent Completion of Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433A basic, intermediate and advanced in-school training preferred Career Progression Employees are encouraged to express interest in internal career opportunities throughout Blommer Expectations for promotion or job role change are driven by proficiency and performance in current role Career progression would align to other maintenance roles within Blommer A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position. Salary Range: Hourly Rates: $32.-$46.50 CAD
