Senior Electrical Designer / Drafter

Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in oil and gas and renewables projects. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Designer/ Drafter to join our team. Duties And Responsibilities Lead electrical design on small to medium sized oil and gas projects for all electrical, controls and instrumentation drawings. Maintain an organized filing system within each project, ensuring accurate documentation and revision control. Manage the requirements of multiple projects simultaneously including time management and deliverable prioritization. Coordinate with other disciplines to develop designs and complete electrical drawing packages within project scope, schedule and budget. Check drawings to ensure they are complete and compliant with standards and specifications. Make revisions and improvements to designs/drawings in accordance with changing project demands while ensuring changes are carried out across an entire design. Requirements Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent. 10+ years’ experience in electrical & instrumentation design (oil& gas experience required) Familiar with design and specifications of Switchgear, MCC’s, PLC/ DCS Systems, UPS Systems. Familiar with CEC, NFPA, API codes. Experience with instructing/supervising junior drafters. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. 3D modelling skills would be considered an asset. Excellent English language reading and writing skills.
