Boucher Bros Lumber Ltd. is looking to hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for employment at their mill site located near Nampa, Alberta. The Heavy Equipment Mechanics responsibilities will be to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty mobile equipment. As a mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting engines and equipment, diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to our fleet of Heavy Equipment. Safety is very important to Boucher Bros. Lumber Ltd. and as such the successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all company policies & procedures, and to be proactive in identifying & reporting potential hazards that could arise. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities: Inspecting rock trucks, Butt n Tops, Bulldozers, Loaders, and other heavy equipment for proper performance. Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment. Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts. Troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems. Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty equipment. Performing major repair work when necessary. Working On call when required. Consulting with other mechanics on larger jobs. Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements: High school diploma or GED. A minimum of 1 year of relevant creditable experience for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprenticeship in Alberta. Understanding of computer testing technologies. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment. Ability to work after-hours if required. Good communication skills. Ability to work independently.
