Shape the Future of Digital Engineering at BPA What if your next role gave you the opportunity not only to advance BIM practices, but to directly influence how a national engineering firm designs, collaborates, and delivers its projects? BPA is looking for a Director, BIM to lead the evolution of our BIM practices and digital production tools across Canada. Reporting to the Vice President, Operational Excellence, you will play a strategic role at the intersection of engineering, technology, and operations. Your mandate: define the vision, mobilize teams, and turn that vision into practical solutions that improve the performance of our projects and our people. You will act as a strategic bridge between Engineering, Information Technology (IT), and Software Development, helping evolve the way we work and positioning BPA as a leader in digital innovation and operational efficiency. Your impact In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To Define and lead BPA’s national BIM strategy, aligned with our business priorities and digital transformation; Influence key technology decisions and clearly demonstrate the business value of proposed solutions to stakeholders; Build strong connections between Engineering, IT, and Software Development to accelerate the integration and evolution of our tools; Develop and strengthen BIM data governance throughout the project lifecycle; Identify emerging technologies and practices that can transform how we design and deliver projects; Turn technological innovation into measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and project performance; Establish a common vision and consistent BIM standards across our teams and offices throughout Canada. Leadership & Transformation Lead, engage, and develop the BIM team; Support engineering teams and leaders as they evolve their practices and adopt new ways of working; Stay connected to project teams to understand their day-to-day realities and develop solutions that address real operational needs; Drive the adoption of digital tools through a pragmatic, collaborative, and value-focused approach; Standardize processes, methods, and tools where they can improve efficiency and quality; Monitor and continuously improve BIM performance and the quality of project deliverables; Ensure BIM initiatives support project performance and profitability objectives; Help prioritize technology investments based on BPA’s strategic needs and collaborate with IT on budget planning. The profile we’re looking for Above all, we are looking for a leader who can connect technology with the realities of engineering and the needs of the business. You Ideally Bring A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; 10 to 14 years of relevant experience, including significant experience in BIM and team leadership; A strong understanding of engineering and/or the consulting engineering environment; Proven experience in digital transformation, process optimization, or the implementation of technology solutions at scale; Strong knowledge of BIM environments, data management, and technology integration; Demonstrated ability to influence, engage, and lead change within a complex or matrixed organization; Strong business acumen and the ability to translate operational needs into practical solutions; A pragmatic, collaborative, and continuous-improvement mindset; Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; Fluency in both English and French, written and spoken*; Availability for occasional travel within Canada. Proficiency in English and French is required to support our Canada-wide operations and collaboration with our teams and clients across other provinces.
