We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. Key Responsibilities: * Assign daily tasks to crew members based on the project’s goals, ensuring tasks are completed on time and according to safety and environmental guidelines. * Oversee and participate in the identification, assessment, and treatment of invasive plant species using methods such as chemical control (herbicides), mechanical control (cutting, mowing), and biological control (introducing natural predators). * Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring all crew members use appropriate protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures when working with chemicals, machinery, and in hazardous conditions (e.g., near roads, power lines). * Conduct regular safety meetings and on-site training sessions for the crew. * Collaborate with project managers, landowners, environmental agencies, or other stakeholders to coordinate tasks, communicate progress, and address challenges related to invasive plant management projects. * Treatment of all of the required vegetation within a designated area. * Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. * Layout boundaries required * Lead and direct a team of field technicians in executing vegetation management tasks. * Keep accurate records of invasive plant management activities, including areas treated, techniques used, herbicides applied, and any challenges encountered. * Provide regular progress updates to project managers or supervisors, including reporting on crew productivity and any issues that may affect project timelines or outcomes. * Space off flagged boundaries and riparian areas. * Waiting for ideal weather conditions. * Work areas are assigned by the client over a large geographic region. Frequent travel will be expected. * Other duties as required Experience and Knowledge Expectations: * 2-3 years of Vegetation Management experience. * Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry or a related field is an asset. * A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent, and a current Driver’s Abstract. * Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions is an asset. * Previous experience in a supervisory role would be considered an asset. * Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent. * Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid S100/S100A certification, or equivalent * Pre-employment drug testing required for safety sensitive positions. * Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. * Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field. * The ability to work away from home for scheduled periods of time. * Experience working with chainsaws would be considered an asset. * A safety conscious attitude. * A love of the outdoors. * The ability to work well individually and as part of a team * The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions * Decision making skills * Map reading skills Join Our Team: SRG is a business unit of an employee-owned company formed in 2017, known as Wright Canada Holdings (WCH). The Crew Leader will assign daily tasks to team members, ensuring timely completion according to safety and environmental guidelines, while overseeing and participating in invasive plant identification, assessment, and treatment using chemical, mechanical, or biological methods. Responsibilities also include enforcing strict safety adherence, conducting training, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records of all management activities.

Candidates need 2-3 years of Vegetation Management experience and must possess a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License with a current abstract, along with a safety-conscious attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Post-secondary education in natural resources or forestry is an asset, as is previous supervisory experience, ATV/truck operation, and First Aid/S100 certifications.
