Spectrum Resource Group Job Description The Position: Tree Planter Type: Seasonal Reports To: Reforestation Crew Leader NOW HIRING FOR THE 2027 SPRING SEASON! About Us: Spectrum Resource Group (SRG), a business unit of Wright Canada Holdings, Spectrum Resource Group is an integrated vegetation management (IVM) solutions provider with expertise in vegetation management, forest management, and reforestation. We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. Why Wright Canada Holdings: A Company Culture of Safety, Family, Integrity, Excellence and Stewardship Spectrum Camps are remote bush camps that have a kitchen with meals provided (for a fee), dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access. Potential for work that extends past the tree-planting season. A variable pay rate, in addition to vacation and STAT pay. The variable rate could look something like- Minimum- $0.16 - Our Quoted Price, $0.013 - Stat and Vacation, $0.173 - Gross Pay per Tree* Average- $0.22 - Our Quoted Price, $0.018- Stat and Vacation, $0.238 - Gross Pay per Tree* Highest- $0.40 - Our Quoted Price, $0.034 - Stat and Vacation, $0.434 - Gross Pay per Tree* *Gross pay is before taxes and other statutory deductions, camp fees and special worksite allowances. Key Responsibilities: Planting seedling trees. Seedling handling and care. Planting location selection. Tree quality and spacing inspection. Accurately record and document the number of trees planted. Load boxes, move equipment and assist in set up or take down of camp infrastructure. Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright Canada Holdings culture of safety. Other duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Expectations: Commitment to spring and summer plant (Early May to mid-August). B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent, is considered an asset. Tree planters are responsible for bringing their own sleeping accommodation (e.g. tent, trailer), personal items including clothing, footwear, and toiletries. Planting equipment will be available for purchase. Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. Self-motivated and the ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Ability to carry 50+ pounds. Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting. English language proficiency (read, write, oral comprehension). For driving positions, a class 5 license, clear drivers abstract and drug screening will be required.
