Experience leading Appian delivery teams and enterprise automation initiatives. Appian Certified Lead Developer certification preferred. Technical Skills Strong expertise in Appian SAIL, Process Models, Records, Decision Rules, Data Fabric, and Integrations. Experience with Appian IDP, RPA, Process Mining, and workflow automation. Proficiency in REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, and enterprise integration patterns. Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performing Appian solutions. AI & Automation Skills Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications. Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, conversational AI, and intelligent document processing. Understanding of AI solution lifecycle, monitoring, governance, and responsible AI practices. Experience with Appian AI Skills or enterprise AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock/Azure AI/OpenAI is an asset. Leadership & Professional Skills Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and drive innovation. Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments. Ability to balance hands-on development with strategic planning and delivery oversight. Role profile description: The Technical Lead will lead a high-performing team of engineers and analysts to build automation solutions, covering all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Success is measured by the team’s ability to generate positive results for Canada Life’s business and client objectives. The role involves building partnerships with onshore and offshore team to build, optimize, evolve and stabilize applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in modern automation technologies, leadership and mentoring skills, strategic planning capabilities, and effective communication and stakeholder management. The Technical Lead will exhibit strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and critical thinking. Keeping current on industry trends and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector is crucial. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful AI-driven workflows and applications. What you will do Technical Lead the design and development of Appian applications, workflows, and integrations. Build and maintain Appian IDP, RPA, case management, and process automation solutions. Design and implement AI-enabled workflows using Appian AI capabilities, Generative AI, and machine learning services. Integrate Appian with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and architecture designs. Ensure solution quality through code reviews, testing, performance optimization, and adherence to development standards. Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues and provide production support. Drive adoption of Appian best practices, reusable components, and governance standards. Stay current on Appian platform enhancements, AI trends, and emerging automation technologies. Leadership & Delivery Lead and mentor Appian developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to define priorities and delivery plans. Manage technical risks, dependencies, and escalations across projects. Support Agile delivery practices and drive high-quality, on-time project execution. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the team. Identify opportunities for processes, training, and systems to retain and transition knowledge, enhancing individual and team effectiveness. Provide regular project status updates to upper management and stakeholders.

Lead a team of engineers to design and develop AI-driven Appian automation solutions and workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and ensure solution quality.

Requires a bachelor's degree and 6-10 years of software development experience, including at least 4 years of Appian development. Proficiency in Appian technical components, AI/ML integration, and leadership of delivery teams is essential.
