Commercial Risk Analyst Braya Renewable Fuels is looking for an energetic and self-motivated team member to join the Finance team at the Refinery in Come By Chance. This dynamic and fast-paced role is an exciting opportunity to work with a technical and collaborative team to assist with analysis impacting key decisions for the refinery. The Commercial Risk Analyst requires the skills of an analytical team player with knowledge of finance, financial reporting, and economic factors needed to develop reports to support day-to-day refinery commercial and risk functions. Reporting to the Commercial Risk Manager, the commercial operations analyst will be required to have excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability of multitasking and prioritizing their workload to meet tight deadlines. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor of Commerce Degree from an accredited university or equivalent * Minimum five years of finance experience * A strong working knowledge of excel is required with experience building and analyzing financial models * Experience working with contracts * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Self-starter with an ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment * Energetic and positive team attitude * CPA designation is considered an asset. * Experience working in a commercial environment within the energy sector is considered an asset. * Experience working with RightAngle or similar Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) software is considered an asset. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Preparing, analyzing and maintaining daily transactions related to the commercial trading, feedstock purchase and product sales of the facility * Assisting with preparing, analyzing and maintaining financial models related to financing arrangements and daily profit and loss * Performing industry benchmarking, gross margin analysis and variance reporting * Helping with management of intermediary relationships and ensuring compliance of contractual obligations * Tracking and ensuring accuracy of commercial deals including invoicing and pricing * Working closely with the Commercial department to track hedging transactions and report gains and losses * Liaising with the Planning & Scheduling department for inventory movements, demurrage and other payments, operational considerations and contract compliance * Completing ad hoc reports as requested * Assist with other areas of the finance and trading departments when necessary * Identify and implement process improvements Physical Demands: By applying for this job, you acknowledge and understand that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to): * Working from desk on a computer for extended periods of time * Tight deadlines * Potential travel to/from Dallas, TX * Regularly lifts/moves object up to 15 lbs Here are some of the many perks of working with us: * Competitive salary and the potential for a discretionary bonus * Comprehensive Flexible Benefits including Health and Dental, Life insurance Accounts * Company Pension Plan with employer matched contributions * Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Plans * Hybrid work schedule * TELUS Health Virtual Care * Employee and Family Assistance Program * On-site parking * Employee appreciation events Braya is committed to Employment Equity.
