Categories: Nursing Location(s): Owen Sound Types: Full Time DEPARTMENT: CRITICAL CARE POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: ONA STATUS: FULL-TIME REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $41.15 – $58.98 Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy, the registered nurse focuses on the promotion of health and the assessment of the provision of care of and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic means to critical ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness in order that the client may return to, attain, or maintain optimal function. Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required Ontario College of Nurses registration 3 years of recent Critical Care experience Critical Care Certificate Current BCLS Current ACLS Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations Excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes Preferred Coronary Care Certificate CRRT Experience

Exigences
Requires registration with the Ontario College of Nurses, a Critical Care Certificate, and 3 years of recent critical care experience. Candidates must hold current BCLS and ACLS certifications, with PALS required or obtainable within one year.
