END DATE DEC 2026) REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $41.15 – $58.98 Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to critically ill adults, children and infants, in order to attain or maintain optimal function. Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility Current BCLS Current ACLS Current PALS Physical Assessment course Arrhythmia interpretation 12- 24 months emergency room/ Critical Care experience Demonstrate the Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluated emergency patients (to be tested) Excellent assessment and interviewing skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals Demonstrate willingness to participate in staff meeting and unit specific projects Willingness to coach and mentor new staff and students Ability to prioritize and remain calm during stressful, violent and crisis situations Utilize evidence-based practice Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records Demonstrate, promote and encourage Brightshores’ values – We Show Up for Each Other, We Are Trusted to Act, We Create Solutions Together, We Strive for Better, We Share Accountability Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes Comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures and regulations, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Preferred Baccalaureate degree in nursing Community College Diploma in Emergency Nursing or ENC Certification TNCC CTAS training CPI training Participation in RNAO, ENAO, ENA
