Categories: Nursing Location(s): Owen Sound Types: Part Time DEPARTMENT: OPERATING ROOM POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: ONA STATUS: PART-TIME REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $41.15 – $58.98 The Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room is responsible for providing safe, competent, and ethical perioperative nursing care in accordance with the standards established by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), as well as relevant organizational policies. The RN functions as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse within the Operating Room (OR) environment and collaborates with the interdisciplinary surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes across all phases of perioperative care. Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Registered Nurse (RN) designation Minimum one (1) year recent Operating Room nursing experience within the past two (2) years and/or successful completion of a recognized Perioperative Nursing Certificate Program for Registered Nurses Demonstrated knowledge of Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada standards and perioperative best practices Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records Demonstrate, promote and encourage Brightshores’ values – We Show Up for Each Other, We Are Trusted to Act, We Create Solutions Together, We Strive for Better, We Share Accountability Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes Comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures and regulations, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Certification in Perioperative Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Experience in multiple surgical specialties (e.g., general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, obstetrics, etc.) Experience with Oracle Cerner surgical documentation systems and electronic health records.

The Registered Nurse provides safe and ethical perioperative care as a scrub or circulating nurse. They collaborate with the interdisciplinary surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes across all phases of care.

Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and at least one year of recent OR experience or a Perioperative Nursing Certificate. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and BLS certification are preferred.
