Role Purpose Lead the end-to-end delivery of British Council exams operations across Canada, ensuring seamless, compliant, and high-quality test delivery from candidate handover through post-test services. The role oversees venue strategy, sourcing, and management of third-party delivery partners, driving operational readiness, performance, and customer excellence while optimising capacity and cost. In addition, the role provides essential operational support across facilities, procurement, compliance, HR, IT, and events, helping create a safe, efficient, and supportive environment for staff and customers. Main Accountabilities Lead the end-to-end operational delivery of Exams across Canada, ensuring test readiness, secure and compliant test-day delivery, and effective post-test services in line with British Council standards and awarding-body requirements. Oversee venue strategy, sourcing and contracting, and manage the full lifecycle of third-party delivery partners, including onboarding, performance monitoring, compliance, and continuous improvement. Work closely with Planning & Registration, Workforce Resourcing, Customer Management, and Operations teams to align capacity, resources, and delivery priorities, manage escalations, and implement contingency plans that protect customer commitments and service quality. Manage delivery risks, compliance, and operational performance, ensuring adherence to safeguarding, exam security, health and safety, data privacy, and audit requirements. Monitor budgets, contracts, supplier performance, and delivery KPIs to optimise cost, utilisation, and customer experience. In addition, provide operational support for the Canada Exams business through office and facilities management, procurement, HR administration, IT coordination, and event support, while leading and developing delivery teams, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus. Qualification & Skills Essential Experience in managing Exams, Teaching or other regulated service environments. Proven track record of leading teams. Knowledge of safeguarding, HR compliance and customer-facing delivery frameworks. Experience driving performance improvement and embedding continuous improvement culture. Financial accountability and cost optimisation. Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in education and assessment services. The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required Degree or equivalent experience. Desirable Implementing and assuring safeguarding policies and processes in educational settings for children. Developing and managing partnerships with educational institutions to assure compliance and performance. Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. Lean Six Sigma qualification.
