Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you'll be a key member of the team in the safe operation of our concrete pumps. When not operating the pump, the successful candidate will also be eligible to run a Mixer truck. What You Will Be Doing * Concrete pump operation - ensure that the pump is set up for pumping in a safe manner clear of power lines and hazards. * Complete daily FLRA's and daily/weekly pump inspections. * Pre-trip, pre-job equipment inspections ensuring equipment fluid levels, tire pressures, lights, etc. are checked and adjusted as required before start-up and at the end of each day; ensure that the pump is clean both inside and outside. * Ensure pump lines are cleaned out daily; ensure pumps are acidized/washed out in accordance with established procedures. * Reporting to Dispatch Office, Operations Supervisor, and the Shop/Mechanic Supervisor any equipment problems or failures. * Perform daily greasing and minor maintenance of clamps, hoses, pipes and elbows. * Wash out or discharging of concrete only on BURNCO property, in areas designated by Management. * Set up and tear down of all pumping equipment (ie., hoses pipes, clamps, hard line). * Contribute to keeping the areas in and around the plant clean and hazardous free. * Learn our company safety protocol in order to execute work safely. * Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor. Reality of the Job * You will work long hours during peak times and concrete demand. * Work schedule will be Monday through Friday (job requires you to work 6 days a week during high season). * When the pump is not booked out, you will be eligible to run a Concrete Mixer truck (training provided) to get extra hours. What We Would Like from You * High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. * Class 3 CDL (Air brakes equipped). * Concrete Mixer Operator experience an asset but not required. * Safe Driver record with a clean commercial Drivers Abstract (minimum 5 years). * Be subject to working conditions which may include varying weather and temperatures and the ability to lift 50 lbs.+. * CSA certified steel-toed boots. * Concrete Pump Operator certification an asset; if not yet held, BURNCO will put you through the course. * We will train the right candidate! Skills * Good mechanical aptitude. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment. * Effective communication skills both verbal and written. IMPORTANT: As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that selected candidate successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing that includes a Drug and Alcohol screen and Fitness to Work testing. Please note that we have a zero-tolerance policy for any Cannabis derived products regardless of use frequency or purpose.
