THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage our day-to-day procurement activities. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating supplier contracts, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional negotiation capabilities, and a proven track record of maintaining seamless supply chain transactions. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Source, evaluate and onboard reliable suppliers while maintaining strong, long-term vendor relationships. * Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules and service level agreements to maximize cost savings and value. * Review purchase requisitions for equipment’s, material, service orders, business services, etc. and issue accurate purchase orders and monitor orders through successful delivery. * Ensure all the purchasing activities comply with corporate policies, legal regulations, and quality standards; resolve order discrepancies or defective goods with suppliers. * Receiving & updating the purchase orders in a purchasing software * Coordinate between production, service coordinator and site managers. * Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to monitor inventory levels, anticipating shortages or delays to prevent operational downtime. * Have a working knowledge of shipping, transportation, and customs regulations * Perform daily, weekly, monthly & year end cycle count as per the requirements * Maintain professional relationships with the manufacturing, project management, Service department and accounting teams * Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. * Other tasks as assigned. EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS * 3 to 5 years of experience as a purchasing agent, buyer, or a similar procurement role. * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. * Certification from a recognized body (e.g. cscp cpim or cpp) is an asset. * Experience in the construction industry would-be asset. * Ability to work in a deadline driven environment. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and commercial negotiation skills. * Result orientated Delegation, Problem Solving, Planning, and Process Management. * Ability to maintain speed and accuracy against established targets. * Computer literacy, working knowledge of MS Office applications. * Demonstrated leadership and communication skills a must. * Proficiency in written and spoken English. * Health and Safety knowledge and experience preferred. * Must be flexible in hours to overlap shifts or be available for alternate shift.
