Working under the responsibility of the Team Lead, the Packaging Production Operator is responsible to ensure facilitate the daily operations of the package line, in order to reach the planned objectives respecting GMP, Food Safety and H&S regulations Will demonstrate promote and exemplify the Company’s Core Values in Safety, People, Quality/ Food Safety and Growth Responsibilities * Responsible for set-up and running the package Line Equipment effectively. * Adjust the printer’s parameters, ensure all labels and retail boxes are within the specifications, quality requirements and in the quantity required by the production schedule. * Ensure the Q/A Technician has verified the specifications label and day code before running all labels for the production shift. * Operate equipment safely following established procedures. Also, identify equipment, facility or other hazards. * Accurately record all production requirements on the daily packing report. * Keep the work area clear and clean at all times * Shut down the machines and printer at the end of the shift. * Immediately notify the Lead Hands, Production Supervisor and/or QA of any issues regarding product quality or safety. * Any other related tasks as required by his/her Production Supervisor/Lead Hands. * Troubleshooting and adjustment if necessary * Monitoring/checking metal detector on an hourly basis. * Effective implementation and adherence to company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures including but not limited to SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured * Participate in Lean Manufacturing/GPS (Guenther Productivity System) and continuous improvement activities. * Equipment and process ownership to reduce variability and increase efficiency (Center Lining, Defect Handling, 5S) * Participate in developing Standard Work/ Standard Work instructions * Ensure Process Stability to develop and engage to own your equipment and surrounding areas. * Monitor the equipment, make adjustments and perform minor maintenance tasks on their machines to improve stability and continuously improve their systems. * Act as a back up for Production Operator – II, as needed. * Perform all the duties assigned to you by your supervisors or Manager Requirements: * Must be required to follow the (GMP) General Manufacturing Procedures * Must comply with Health & Safety legislation requirements * Must be required to follow the (CCP) Critical Control Points documents * Post-Secondary education in the food industry as asset. * Responsible and results oriented. * Good physical condition and the ability to work in a refrigerated environment * Strong problem solving ability and able to identify improvement opportunities * Ability to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts and weekends * Working Conditions Notations * Daily exposure to temperatures noticeably above and below room temperature. * Regular exposure to stress caused by complex and time sensitive deadlines * Constant exposure to food products that may cause allergic reactions (flour, milk, etc) * We are proud to offer competitive compensation and benefit programs that include extended health, dental, pension plan, employee assistance program, wellness programs, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, disability insurance, paramedical services, employee referral program, paid time off, and more!
