Company Description Calgary Stucco and Slate is an exterior and interior finishing contractor serving Calgary and surrounding communities, including Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Strathmore, and Langdon. The company specializes in stucco and EIFS, parging and foundations, stone veneer and masonry, tile, and shower systems for residential and commercial clients. With crews bringing more than twenty years of trade experience, the team handles both repairs to building envelopes and installation of new systems such as acrylic stucco, fireplaces, and Schluter shower systems. Calgary Stucco and Slate is licensed, insured, WCB registered, and offers a written 5-year workmanship warranty on every job, along with a health and safety program and daily hazard assessments. The company works with recognized systems including ADEX EIFS, Schluter Kerdi and Ditra, and Kryton crystalline waterproofing, and supports commercial and multi-family projects, including phased repairs on occupied buildings. Role Description The General Laborer role is a full-time or part-time, on-site position based in Calgary, AB. In this role, the General Laborer will assist skilled tradespeople with exterior and interior finishing work, including stucco, EIFS, parging, stone veneer, masonry, tile, and waterproofing tasks. Daily responsibilities may include site preparation and cleanup, material handling and organization, mixing and transporting products, basic demolition, and supporting installation and repair activities on residential and commercial projects. The General Laborer will help set up and take down scaffolding and work platforms, follow directions from supervisors and crew leads, and ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained properly. The role requires consistent adherence to the company’s health and safety procedures, participation in daily hazard assessments, and professional interaction with team members and clients on active job sites. Qualifications Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting materials, working on ladders or scaffolding, and standing or moving for extended periods. Basic construction or building envelope experience (e.g., stucco, masonry, tile, waterproofing, or general exterior/interior finishing) is an asset. Strong awareness of workplace safety, willingness to follow health and safety procedures, and use of personal protective equipment. Reliable transportation to job sites in Calgary and surrounding communities, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work respectfully with diverse crews and clients. Attention to detail and willingness to learn new techniques and trade skills from experienced crew members. Availability and flexibility to accommodate project schedules; punctual and dependable attendance. Previous experience in construction Must be 18+ years old. Must have a valid drivers license and reliable way to commute daily.
