Calian / Deloitte is a third‑party service provider contracted by the Canadian Armed Forces Recruiting Group (CFRG) to provide information and candidate sourcing support for CAF career opportunities and entry programs. As an external contractor for the CAF, we are actively looking for professionals to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Physiotherapy Officer (Physiotherapist). Overview: As a member of the military, Physiotherapy Officers assess, educate and treat Forces members for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. They establish treatment plans for a variety of orthopaedic, cardio-respiratory, neuro-musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy issues. As a member of the Canadian Forces Health Services team, Physiotherapy Officers are responsible for assessing injury and developing treatment plans with the objective of returning Forces members to active duty. They also provide advice and guidance in: Worksite assessments and industrial ergonomics; Injury prevention; Health promotion; Sports injury education; Pre-deployment education; and Reconditioning programs. Responsibilities: Assess patients' physical abilities through evaluative procedures such as functional ability tests Promote use of evidence-based practice by providing physical and measurable solutions Establish treatment goals with patients based on physical diagnoses Plan and implement programs of physiotherapy including therapeutic exercise, manipulations, massage, education, the use of electro-therapeutic and other mechanical equipment and hydro-therapy Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and modify accordingly Provide advice on exercise and strategies to enhance and or maintain treatment Communicate with referring physician and other healthcare professionals regarding patients’ problems, needs and progress Maintain clinical and statistical records and confer with other health care professionals May conduct research in physiotherapy May provide consulting or education services Physiotherapists may focus their practice in particular clinical areas such as neurology, oncology, rheumatology, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, in the treatment of patients with cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary disorders, burns or sports injuries or in the field of ergonomics. Requirements: Hold a Master of Science in Physiotherapy (MScPT) or Bachelor’s of Physiotherapy degree from a recognized Canadian university Have successfully passed the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE) Have an active, unrestricted license as a Physiotherapist in Canada Letter of “good standing” from applicant’s professional regulatory authority Experience: If graduated within the last 12 months: no minimum experience required If graduated more than 12 months ago: at least 1200 hours of experience as a physiotherapist in out-patient, orthopaedic or sports physiotherapy, within the past two-and-a-half years

Exigences
