Career Opportunity (Driver) Position Summary Position Title: Class 5 Truck Driver Location (Start Point): Winnipeg, MB Delivery Area: Local Employment Type: Full-Time Shift Schedule: Open availability required Start Time: Varies We are seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented drivers to join our growing transportation team. Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city/local routes Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Winnipeg in a safe, timely, and professional manner Operate straight truck equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs. Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required Core Requirements Valid Class 5 driver's license Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events) Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year) Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach Role-Specific Requirements Class 5 Drivers Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class 5 driving experience Physical Requirements Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required Why Work for Canada Cartage?
