About This Opportunity Canada Packers is seeking a dynamic FSQA leader to provide strategic oversight of food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and regulatory compliance for our Brandon and Lethbridge operations. This role is responsible for protecting consumers, ensuring compliance with CFIA and customer requirements, proactively identifying and reducing food safety and quality risks, and building high-performing teams that drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and a strong quality culture. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration. Responsibilities Lead all food safety, quality, sanitation, HACCP, and regulatory compliance programs. Set the strategic direction for FSQA programs, aligning priorities with business objectives, customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational risk reduction. Partner with Operations, Sales, and senior leaders to proactively identify, assess, and manage food safety and quality risks. Lead customer, third-party, and regulatory audits. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and root cause problem solving. Use data, trends, and leading indicators to anticipate issues, strengthen controls, and drive preventative action before risks escalate. Develop, coach, and lead high-performing FSQA teams across multiple locations, building capability, accountability, and succession strength. Serve as a key stakeholder in product dispositions, recalls, customer concerns, and regulatory matters. Build strong relationships with Operations, Sales, Customers, Auditors, and Regulatory Agencies. Qualifications Skills & Experience: Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing, food safety, or quality assurance. Strong knowledge of HACCP, CFIA regulations, customer standards, and federally inspected food production. Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, influence across functions, and translate strategy into measurable business results. Key Skills & Competencies Knowledge of food safety, quality systems, HACCP and regulatory compliance. Experience with audits & risk management. Proactive risk identification and prevention mindset. Continuous improvement driver. Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to set direction, prioritize risk, and align FSQA priorities to business objectives. Ability to develop, coach, and build capability within FSQA teams. Ability to collaborate across functions. Strong change management skills. Able to develop key stakeholder & customer relationships.
