ABOUT THE POSITION: We are seeking candidates who are compassionate, caring and who can understand the challenges our patients and their families face. As the ideal candidate you are a pharmacy assistant who is responsible for assisting the pharmacy team in the preparations of medications and supporting them with optimal patient care. Working within a busy pharmacy or clinical environment, you have excellent communication and time-management skills. YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Answering telephones, forwarding calls, taking messages, assisting customers, stocking shelves, operating cash registers, cleaning work areas and sterilizing containers. * Order medications, organize supplies, label drugs * Work directly with patient data, prepare insurance forms, maintain patient profiles * Provide patient assistance for technical non-regulated functions as required (e.g., showing location of an OTC product) while ensuring that a pharmacist is consulted for all patient therapeutic issues. Administrative duties include the following: Banking & POS functions: operating POS, monitoring charge accounts, account reconciliation, etc * Data entry and billing of prescriptions using Kroll Pharmacy Software ensuring that required documentation is complete, including third-party billing restrictions, co-payment management, and coordination of benefits * Assist with the management and reconciliation of inventory * Other duties as assigned by the Designated Manager or dispensing pharmacist(s) WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE: * Completion of secondary school (diploma) * Provision of a recent and acceptable Criminal Reference Check. * Proficiency in using Microsoft platform, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. * Previous Pharmacy and Kroll experience is an asset. * Must be able to stand for long periods of time. * Demonstrated decision-making skills. * Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills. * Demonstrated ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations. * Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. * Strong attention to detail.
